Shout out to the solutions that sprung up from weirdest places and in the weirdest moments.
For me, It was like a light bulb went off in my head.
I suddenly understood the "hydrating error" better and how to make those images look right using the `<Image/>` tag, and all those tricky NextJs concepts for the shopping app I was building. It all clicked.
Here’s my story (in memory)☺️;
You know that feeling when you’ve applied for a job and they drop a project on you? Well, that’s exactly what happened. They wanted me to use this thing called an API to bring products onto a webpage, a cart for buying stuff, make sure the cart could be edited, and oh, it had to work and look perfect on all screen sizes.
And to top it off, I had just 24 hours to do this using Next.js. For styling, I opted for Tailwind for speed.
I was up for the challenge, but here’s the thing, I hadn’t really built projects with Next.js before. So, there I was, trying to figure out a lot of things, how to make this fancy <Image/> thing behave, and wrap my head around some other updated NextJs concept.
You know what's funny? I was seated, waiting for my shawarma ☺️ at this joint, when everything just clicked.
It was like a light bulb went off in my head. I suddenly knew how I could have fixed those tricky concepts.
Looking back, it's a reminder of how sometimes, the answers come when you least expect them. It's also a testament to my knack for getting things done under a bit of pressure. Though, if I'm being honest, I'm not a huge fan of pressure, my real strength comes from methodical thinking and a genuine passion for untangling complex problems.
By the way, if you’re curious to see how it turned out, you can check out the project right here to see what I submitted: https://lnkd.in/gavWxS3p
I would definitely revamp the app later☺️.
So, yeah, that's a little story about my unexpected shawarma-fueled epiphany, and how I approached that challenge. Not a fan of pressure, but I'm all about finding solutions.
Ps: I’m seeking an opportunity as a Frontend Engineer, so kindly do well to refer me.
